The 2025 Kangaroo Maths Competition will take place from 28 April to 23 May 2025.
Welcome to the official Kangaroo Maths site for the Republic of Ireland. The Kangaroo Mathematics Competition started in 1991 and it is the largest Mathematics competition in the world, with more than 7 million participants per year, from 92 countries.
The objectives of the Competition are:
To expand and encourage mathematical knowledge
To contribute to improving Mathematics teaching at all levels
To introduce students to interesting sections of mathematics
To develop students' ability to obtain pleasure and satisfaction through intellectual challenges.
To develop critical thinking and outside of the box thinking.
It is offered in the Republic of Ireland for 1st Class up to 6th Year. This is a global event and it allows your students to compete with the best students in your country and the world. Representatives from all the participating countries gather annually to set the papers. They are innovative, creative and thought-provoking.

We are very excited to be working with the team at Trinity College Dublin as part of their Maths and Science Festival taking place from the 26th March - 9th May 2025 .
Trinity Access Programme was set-up in 1994. Our mission is to work in partnership across the education sector with students, teachers, families, communities and businesses to widen access and participation at third-level for underrepresented groups. TAp offers a range of access programmes for people with the enthusiasm, motivation, and ability to succeed at third-level. We engage with communities and schools in low progression areas in Co.Dublin in Ireland to encourage a positive mindset and support real steps towards going to University.
