Welcome to the official Kangaroo Maths site for the Republic of Ireland.    The Kangaroo Mathematics Competition started in 1991 and it is the largest Mathematics competition in the world, with more than 7 million participants per year, from 92 countries.

The objectives of the Competition are:

• To expand and encourage mathematical knowledge

• To contribute to improving Mathematics teaching at all levels

• To introduce students to interesting sections of mathematics

• To develop students' ability to obtain pleasure and satisfaction through intellectual challenges.

• To develop critical thinking and outside of the box thinking.

It will now be offered for the first time in the Republic of Ireland for 1st Class up to 6th Year.  This is a global event and it allows your students to compete with the best students in your country and the world.  Representatives from all the participating countries gather annually to set the  papers.  They are innovative, creative and thought-provoking.
